I have a part in a song that is an organ (actually a modified preset in the Dreamstation synth), and one of the effects it is running through is a Revalver setup. I have set the EQ in it so that there is a low end peak, completely flattened out in the mids, and then a high end peak too. I would like to have the high end peak pan back and forth (ie sweep L-R at a set rate), but leave the low end peak where it is. How can I automate this effect? Do I need to use an EQ with a side chain to send the desired frequency range to an aux bus and then put a panning envelope on it?

Comprende?

Subgroups are the answer, methinks. Make two subgroups, and name them "Low" and "High", for example. Then Make two sends on the track, set them to PRE and set the the volume-fader all the way down (-INF) on the track. Now, on the LOW-group, apply an EQ with the prefered setting, but filter away the high frequensies. Do the same on the HIGH-group, but do the opposite for the EQ. Now you should be able to automate the pan on the HIGH-group...

Hope this helps you! :)

that sounds exactly like what I want. Thanks Moskus, and thanks for the eye candy in the cave this week.... now I know what you do online all the time!

Actually, I "do" stuff like that almost never. I was just a little disappointed in CrishHarris and if he didn't do what whas necessary somebody else had to... :D

So who closed the thread? Dragon?

I wanted to comment that I have had belly button lint that had significantly more material than some of those thongs. :D :D

some of those thongs were more like threads or toothfloss

Yes, Dragon closed it. It's fine with me. :)

But it's seems a little weird. I would think that a moderator would be of better use somewhere else... Remeber the Mic-forum incidense? ;)

But that's a lovely comment, Dachay! :D
