The AT3525 is a great mic for some things and will work on most things. Its good on low mid chugging guitars. Great on percussion. Good on low supporting voxes. Basically, its good on things that need a low frequency emphasis. It gives it depth and sits nicely in the mix without much EQ. It does not have much air and is not meant for 7k+ detail and transients.

Ill trade for something interesting. Probably something in the mic or pre category.

I might be willing to part with a Marshall MXL V67M.

Then again, it sounds like I'd just be getting more of the same exact thing. :)

Actually the marshall is more of a vocal mic, the AT3525, although a large diaphragm condenser, is more diverse. It also doesnt sound as good on vocals as the V67. It also has a flatter and more even response than most LDCs in the range.

BTW, musicians friend sells them for $300. I can get a V67 for what..$100??

:)
