ASTRO first song...What do you Think?

Hey,

I was left a little more than confused by the tune.
Not that I don't speak spanish( i speak some) and I am familiar with the strong use of reverb in spanish music, especialy on the vocals, from mexican to puerto rican but. The reverb is not controlled enough. It is too rounded and engulfing.
The solo git had too much distortion( i think but, I'm confused as to what you were going for in the overall of the song) Coming out of the solo, the song gained a darker mood that the vocals didn't follow at all. And the git fills were lost in the mix after the solo.

I think there might be a song inside this torn direction of moods and tracks IMHO.

I'm not the keenest ear on the block nor, the sharpest producer but, I think the song is lacking a unified direction. I also think that the song could be good with one.

The vocals were tracked just fine. The git sounded like it was tracked ok but with bad tone for the song.

Everything has a solid core and miles of hopeful improvement just as soon as the song (read..YOU) decide where you wanna take it and with what encompassing voice.

Damn, I didn't mean to be so critical, just sharing what my ears and head told me while listenting.

Hope this helps

Theron.

strange tune..

I didnt like the two guitar solos going on at the same time. I do that sometimes also but it can sound confused if your not careful. I did like the backward stuff though.. This is a strange tune, and there were elements that I liked.

Like theron, I was left confused at the end, but I am often left confused at the end of my songs also..:D

I like the chord changes and the melody (though the voice could be louder). The 2 guitar solos are too much -- there are also too many crash cymbals going on in the verses.

The overall mood is really cool -- ethereal!

It was recorded following the Low - Fi Rules

seriusly, the drums are programed, using the suonds of Fruity Loops, the Guitars, Bass, and all the rest, by mic to the "mic" entry, and all mix up using Cakewalk. My mic is Pioneer, a really cheap one, that is broken, so i put it in a sock. Its was recorded in my home. So, you see that my recording technics are not the best, but i like it that way. BTW, that take is not the final, i make some adjustments and soon as is ready im gonna replace it. Sorry for my english.
