Does anyone know where I can get a hold of some nice drums or bass that can give me that explosive shit you hear in top producers beats, cuz the kicks and basses that are pre-installed on programs are just lacking of that and I haven't been able to find any. Also if anyone is familiar with flstudio then you must know what the buzz generator is and i use voidlead for my bass, on my speakers it sounds real deep and hits hard and it sounds right where it needs to be but when i make a cd of it and i play it on other stereos it's either too much or not there at all, can anyone help?

your monitors suck ass..as far as drums sample from vinyl...bass get a nice keyboard or program with nice bass

have any recommendations on wut type of keyboard i should get? or monitors?right now i have 4 300w speakers hooked up

4 300w speakers....what ya take the speakers out your car?haha...when making a thread for advice its always best to be a bit more detailed.like what your budget, genre, goals ,current set-up

ok i have a casio keyboard hooked up to a tascam us-122 hooked up to my dell xps which is hooked up to my stereo with 4 on the floor 300w speakers. the bass shakes this whole place and it sounds real good but i burn cd's and it's like the bass is gone on other stereo systems

Get the cheapest heaphones you can find. That will simulate the worst source your music will be heard on .If you acn make it sound good on those you will be alot closer to what you are trying to accomplish. You need to search for soundfonts and vst modules.i dont have monitors so i had your problem. Its a lot of free stuff on the net but the best stuff you have to pay for.just about any midi controller keyboard will do.I don't even have one.I'm using my computer keyboard.Just collect sounds and practice and play what you like.

Ok I will do that thanks. Reek Brock ya beats are insane, what do you use when you compose?

These cats ain't gonna help you. If i were you i'd just do alot of reading and researching everyday like i'm doing & learn yourself. Do you actually think these cats are gonna help you so you could be better than them at what they do i doubt it. If i were you get you a keyboard workstation where you do everything inside the box. I have the motif 6 and it has everything. It has a built in sequencer, sythn, sampler. All you have to do is load in drum samples which i'm bout to do. You can buy drum sound kits off the net & then load em into your motif and away you go. You'll have the sickest keys and tight ass drums at your expense. I say fuck software! I'm doing everything inside this keybaord. Get you the motif 6 man it's a sick ass piece!

Also after you get the motif get you the m-audio trigger finger to add to it so you can punch in your drums off the pads and not your keyboard. That's what i'm bout to do.

^^^ they are helping him..everyone gets help in here when the right questions are asked..do not post negative replies that no one is goin to help him..

we give information from off information we get..he was told his monitor system was good..and told a way to check it..and was told where to get drums and whatever from.

I have to respectfully disaggree with you here. There is no way headphones will ever even near the accuracy of monitors. Ix you mix it good in phones, it will probably have flat bass and very tinny mid-highs in a real stereo.

Just my .02

yeah people are down too help, and me i want to help...I may give my opinion and also send a link for people to do some research, but Im just asking for more info to better help him.

DesertEase.....Monitors are one of the most important pieces of equipment you will ever buy, whether you are making beats, mixing,or mastering. In laymans terms...the speakers you currently use have components in them that help you hear bass frequencies that are lower..it sort of compensates for the lack of...the same can be said for mids and hi.A good monitor is gonna be neutral what you hear is the truth..it doesnt over exagerate and compensate for bass. Now you dont have to spend $8000 on some monitors(although you could) as far as budget for about$200 the krk rokit 5 are a good deal.when looking for monitors there are active and passive....the rokit are active and dont need an amplifier it has its own built in,a passive needs a seperate amplifier.Im stating this so if you shop you keep this in mind so you stay with in budget...now i dont know everything there is to know about monitors but what little i gave you should be a start. You can buy all the best programs in the world and if you cant mix it down right you will have the sam problems....I personally dont use any software..but it seems like you are on a budget and are going that route...so there are many reccomendations but it all costs money so thats also why i ask what kind of budget you working with.

That's madd disrespectful lil Man! I can actually say that you have disrespected the board and all that it represents. In the hood, dudes are missing for things like that!

Look into a used mpc3000 or 2000xl for about 1000 for a 3000 and 500-700 for a 2000xl on ebay...then get a sound module like fantomx for about 800 or a few older good models like roland 1080 and proteus2000 for about 200 each on ebay..so if you can find a 2000 for about500 and them two modules about 300 for some monitors you might have about 800 left...and you will have a good arsenal in front of you....I guarantee you will notice a huge difference wu=ith that right there.the drums are capable og bangin hard and the sounds are real good on both those modules,

Yo good lookin out 50cal i appreciate ya help and i peeped ya myspace and that shit is ill. That watcha ride fo joint is off the chain i listened to it like 5 times. Dem beats is proper.

Man you trippin dude. This is the best place to come for info on production. These dudes in here are real with you and they actually help you. As far as hardware, everybody has there preference. I've been a musician for 18 years and i use software because of the limitless channels you can have and i can split my tracks for mixing. Nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with your way either, but you can't come in here bashing everybody's method. Regardless, i might look at that motif 6 tho. I use the triton le but i hate the drums. I'm bout to read up on that upgrade tho so maybe i'll be able to upload drums if i buy that. Everything i said was all in love bro. Stay up pimpin.

Lol dude we know your lying . I've been a musician for 18 years? Don't tell me you were making beats when you were 3 years old. Why in the fuck would you spend alot of money on the triton le and not use all it's features? You said you use fruity loops. Why pay so much on a keybaord workstation when you don't even use it's own built in sequencer or sampler? Doesn't make any sense at all.
