So far I have built three Ashikos, so I have three Questions;
1. The info I got from my skin supplier was that deer skin is the best for Ashikos, however I am getting a very thin sound from them, and they don't seem to work as well as the goat skins I've heard, so what the heck.
2. I am thinking that part of the "thin" problem might be with the wood choice. I used kiln dried poplar and got a better more full sound, but the red oak isn't that good. So what is the best wood. So what the heck.
3. I have this lossening problem, after some time, the head loosens, it's been months so I know that the lacing is broken in and the head is too. I buy from African Rthym Traders, and the lacing is pre-stretched. So what the heck. Thanks

Also, what does it mean whent he skin is listed as "whole Skin" and will I get a better skin from africa than saving $ from Pakistan.
