Art Tube MP versus "this" for DI

I want something primarily for bass to record into my Aardvark DP2496 (already has 4 mic pres).

So I was looking at the Art Tube MP, and then saw this

I know it is not well known, but it sounds appealing. What do you guys think?

We use a number of basic pasive DI boxes with our church system. At home I've used the ART MP. I really do think a tube makes a diff for "critical" sound reproduction. But like anything else, it really depends on your need.

I have to open the boxes up from time to time to resolder connections, etc. The pasive boxes have a little transformer in them. Big box, little transformer.

ART MP - about the same size box and full of stuff So it HAS to be better ;-)

The bottom line - listen to it first and decide for yourself.
