Why do I feel like I'm addressing a 1st grader?!?!?!

...I'm not a "top dog" here.... I merely posted a link to give the original poster some more information to consider.

My info (and personal opinion) is contrary to yours but that's irrelevant.

Why you decided to comment further is beyond me.......

I do not question your expertise on recording issues. I do question yout beserk replies to those who may have different opinions.

Off course there is... but let me tell ya sumthin' If you find one, then it's a broken headphone... don't buy it...

Why ?

Because headphones supposed to act like headphones you know...

If I were you, then I'll look for headphones that act like headphones... and if I have to, I'll look for monitors that act like monitors...

You're not gonna look for Harley that acts like Porche, are you ? You'll be there, with different chick...

that's what I thought. ..big friggin deal. ...but I think he has two of them though. One for all the shit he spews, and another for all the shit he is full of.

However, being on his ignore list is best.

I love headphones and I used to use headphones to mix all the time. But it was a pain in the butt because I had to then play the tape on my ghetto blaster to make sure it sounded okay. If it didn't, I had to do the whole mix over.

I'm a new convert to PC recording, and I've got some decent speakers which are much better for monitoring the mix. You've got to have the speakers play over the air to see how the sounds interact, I'd say. The headphones just isolate the two speakers.
 
Oh, and nobody can make you angry w/out your permission. If someone wants to rant and rave, let them. Just pay attention to when they might print something useful.

Good advice, holder. If you guys will just listen (read) to what some of these more experienced people say without reacting to their personalities, you will gain a tremendous amount of knowledge. Of course you don't have to buy everything they say. Check other sources to see if you can get agreement among them. Then you'll know if it's something you need to pursue. And, I hate to say this, this Blue Bear, however obnoxious he may seem to be at times, is "right" about a lot of stuff, even though you may initially revolt against his means of delivery. Some of the most useful tips I have put into practice came from the Bear and, I might add, from a few other folks here with whom my own personality does not necessarily mesh. If you are new to recording, listen and learn and don't get offended when someone more experienced corrects you or contradicts your own ideas. Most of the time - they'll be "right" or will at least open your stubborn brain ( mine is one of the most obstinate of them all ) to another avenue of thought that will enrich your experience. Vain arguments just waste time and disk space ( as does this reply. )

headphones or monitors diff.?

i think that monitors would be a better choice... just use headphones for tracking purposes.. in ur situation... might be stuck with headphones... and to put in my word with blue bear and that other guy.... listen to blue bears recordings... theier are prob the best out of all of us members... he seems like he knows wat he is doin
