I have 2 40 Gbyte Intel SSD drives and I really like the boot time speedup.
One problem is that the flash based models have a finite number of writes that can occur before failure.
They use wear leveling algorithms to reduce the number of sequential writes and will relocate sectors with
high write counts automatically. Many models also carry spare sectors that can be used if write errors occur.
I've been hammering mine for a couple of years without any problem.
