Are all MIDI interfaces the same (quality, etc?)

Had posted a question about MIDI interfaces, but after some reading, think I answered my own question...MIDI is MIDI...not a big deal for computers anymore and seems like pretty much any interface is as good as the next - very unlike audio recording, I realize. :-)
Thanks,
Jed

More or less. Driver support, number of in's & out's, quality of hardware all vary from device to device. In past years, there were some cheap interfaces that had dropout problems, but it seems like that's a non-issue with most current devices.

Ok, thanks Kinetic. That's the general idea I seemed to get - that MIDI was pretty easy for modern hardware . . . I'm looking at getting an E-MU, maybe the 0404 because I can get it pretty reasonable, and seems to have the style of interfae I'd like.
Thanks,
Jed
