Very good effort.

THe vocals are not tight. I cant hear some of it and its generally low in volume. It also needs some body.

The space, if there is any, sounds very demo.

The kick sound a bit flabby and the bass is a bit overpowering.

I think the snare could be louder

Funk on!

Thanks, Cyan

I'll re-torque the snare.
The Bass is too loud?..Hmmm...I'll check that.

I have ben having a ahrd time with the "Dualing" vocals, getting a clean, clear panned mix on them.

And it is definitely a demo...That's why i need the feedback for the final take.

Thanks!

And that is the first time I have ever heard a kick drum being referred to as "Flabby"...That was cool.

:D

Cool song. It really reminds me of something but I can't put my finger on it.

I agree with just about everything Jag said.

Also, about that snare, it seems like there's no attack to it. Sounds like its all snare and no top head - I'm guessing its some compression you've used unless you mic'ed the bottom head only. The cymbals sound swooshy to me too, especially the hi hat.

Just one more - the guitars sound a little dead. They could use a little sparkle - maybe cut some lows, giving the bass more space so you can turn down the level and still hear it clearly.

Cool VI, some beatlish parts in it. Reminded me oddly enough of 'pipes of peace' by Paul M.

Bass is way loud, kick a bit boomy.. hard to tell with the bass git so loud though.

Lead vocals need to be louder, the backup vocal is .... strange and way off most of the time. The ideas good for the backups, just gotta execute them.

Dug the song though.

the mix sounds boomy/bass heavy to me.
the vocals, especially the background vocals are not "on" and out of tune a lot of the times.
Maybe pan the voices??
I'd take more energy to the song too.
Keep pluggin'!! good song!:)

I too think this song has a lot of potential...but the recording/ mix sounds pretty horrible. The drum sound for one renders it almost unlistenable! The overall drum sound is so overly synthetic throughout the song, but then when the snare fills come in ...AHHHH!!!! My ears!!!:D

In my experience with programming drum sequences, if you want anyone to listen to your song more than once, you really have to take your time and make those synthy sounds work. EQing, I always tried to deaden the sounds to take that digital edge off a bit. And ALWAYS take the time to micromanage the volumes of each hit, or sequence of hits to slightly alter the volume of each one to not sound quite so mechanical. Also if you can go in and knock a few hits here and there a tiny tiny amount off of the beat it will give it a more human rythym.

B/U Vocs off key a bit and a bit weak on the leads, and I personally wanted some more guitars!

But I really like the song and would love to hear it more evolved!!!!
