Apex 190

HEEY!
Have any of you ever had any experience with the Apex 190..its a back electret condensor...Im on a tight budget and im contemplating purchasing it. The main use will be for drums overheads...

I haven't really heard anything about them but I know who they are. I'd be a bit hesitent. You'd most likely be better-off with a Rode NT-3 for $150US. Then again, it is always possible you found a "gem". Where ever you buy it from, you better make sure they have a good return policy. And when it arrives, I recommend you go down to your local music that carries Rode and at least do a few simple comparisions with the NT-3. Then you'd know... To a point.

Otherwise, your next step in small condenser mics would be a Crown CM-700 for $250US (max.) and comparing that to an MXL 600 going for $250US (max.).

Yes, Im on a huge budget! Ok this is the story:
I picked up the Apex cause i got a deal..so far its been working good..but i really dont know how to judge mics that well...hes also offering me (if I dont like the Apex) a AudioTechnica 3527. SO right now im taking in your sugestions.. but im still a little confused!!!
