Anyone wasting time here?

actually, i don't own any chinese mics. i used my m179. i had it and my 1010lt boxed up to send out on tuesday for repair but i'm spoiled to them so I pulled them back out. :D the other option was a sm58 and my onboard sound. the mic sounds fine, just makes a buzz when i touch it around the pattern selector switch. and the sound card works too, but has one bad output.

any takers on this tune? i figure the intro will be acoustic guitar and singing solo. at the tempo change, electric guitar, drums, bass, maybe some keys, maybe a vocal harmony.

Travis, cool tune. I'd like to help, but am away from instruments and equipement for another week. If there is still something happening when I get back, I'll see if I can help. Otherwise, I'll just listen in. Love the tune though. Very cool.

Suppose I am kinda wasting time here as I have a broken heel and am stuck in the house. But i am learning alot aswell.

Dude you r0x.

Trav your voice has some koo tone. I like hearing your funny tunes. It gets me into a good mood.

Keep up the good work man.

jdavidb, that's a rockin bass line. nice job. i still have'nt gotten any bites from a drummer. I might just use bfd drums and see how it goes. i really suck at drums though.

livilanic, long time no see. i hope you have'nt been wasting all your time here too. you getting in on this?

so jdavidb is the only one getting in on this?

livilanic, i hope the fat chick f#%king is going good for ya. why the hell did you sell your stuff? when this is done, i could definately using someone to pick it apart.

Good stuff, thats a cool song. Anybody out there adding anything else? I'd like to hear.
I would but my puter is still out of commision.

I'm gonna hit up a drummer one more time and if that does'nt fly, it's bfd i suppose. I guess next would be the bass and rhythm guitar. jdavidb seems to have the bass part. anyone wanna do the rhythm?

I suppose I could slap some electric guitar on this track. Maybe some lead lines?? Is anybody else already doing that?

BTW - Great song :D I can really relate!

no one is doing that. it's yours. so now we have some guitar and bass and waiting on a response from the drummer.

the stuff I did on bass definitely has electric guitar in mind... clean, distorted, semi-distorted or whatever a guitar player wants to do. The bass line has that kind of a pulse that matches the character of drums & electric more than strummed acoustic because I knew that was the plan. Actually, it's one of those bass lines that wouldn't be out of place with synth riding along with it.

I'd go ahead and do more, but this is one of those "the more the merrier" kinds of things. So, I wanna see what other people add.

Once someone has delivered drums to put into our multitrackers, we can redo each instrument's performance track by track for real.

yea, i was thinking an overdriven rhythm guitar would probably fit nice. my primary instrument is guitar but I'm glad someone offered to do it. like you said, the more the merrier. makes things more interesting. although, if someone else offers, i'd like to see the lead and rhythm split between a couple of people. maybe someone else for the acoustic guitar intro? would that be cool with you metalhead28?

i contacted the drummer and he said he would get on the drum line. looking good so far. is there anybody out there that can do the main vocal? backup? synth?

anyone that is thinking of getting in on this, what's posted so far are just rough tracks. I want to get a track from the drummer, with drums only, for everyone to start adding to. Of course, I'd like to keep all the tracks seperate so that a couple a people can try their hand at mixing the tracks. I'm thinking that mp3 tracks will probably cause some problems so maybe I should hit up NL5 about maybe hosting some wav files. Would mp3 tracks be ok?

that is cool with me, I could wait and see if anybody else is wanting to do the rhythm or lead guitar and I can jump in and do the other....either way :D

ok, the drummer wants the other tracks first. i really thought that the rough track would have been enough to lay down the drum track to. I'm just gonna try it with bfd and see how it goes.

the recording I have at my nowhereradio site should be enough for a drummer. It's got the bass's additional definition for the song plus it's done on your track that is steady thanks to the metronome.

Ok, I got the drum track up. The first 14 bars are silent for the acoustic intro. It's pretty rough because I can't play drums for crap. I think it's good enough for everyone else to be able to lay down their tracks though. Any suggestions on mixing the drums? Any suggestions on how to improve the drum line? If anyone wants the individual drums tracks to try mixing them, let me know and I'll post them up. Sorry this has been taking so long.

It's nice to hear drums to the other two tracks / three parts. It is a complete song. It's just still got a lot of room for more. I'll get the guitar gear going and add stuff in a few days if no one else wants to.

I would put my 3 tracks mixed down into nowhereradio for download, but it's got some pretty bad pops in it that I'd have to work out. The snare & hi hat on top of the guitar picking and the bass attack being in there too are piling up to form some sharp clicks. Just a little thing that I haven't tweaked yet.

Well, I put some electric guitar to this thing, but I had already uploaded it before I saw that some drums had been added. Oh well you can check it out anyways :D , I was expecting to redo this stuff so the sound/performance ain't perfect. Also, I wanted you guys to comment on the approach, cause I'm not sure what kind of guitars you think would sound best.

By the way, I can repost without the little lead line(s) if anyone elso wants to do something different!
