I think Harvey is a hellofanice guy too!(plus its really fun to say
his name with a very slow southern drawl)Before I ever found this site,I found his e-mail address. He was one of the first people to help me understand some things about recording, and I app -reciate that. But if this thread were about a radio shack product,
and a radio shack salesman were to come on this board and make comments in a thread that was started about one of the products he sold, you fuckers would crucify him.
Howinthefuck do you guys decide what is spam and what is not?
It is no wonder that we cant get more industry pros here. One word on a product from a senior member, and a hundred folks
are right behind them.(a hundred that never bothered to try the product, but opted to take the advice of a stranger because of a high post count.)
I keep wondering when one of you is gonna accuse the thread starter of working for Harvey, and accuse Harvey of using under
paid,pre-teen,Chinese Lukemia victoms to manufacture his headphones.
Nothing at all against you Harvey, just pointing out something
that bothers me.

If you look at an earlier thread in this forum, I have disclosed some details about the labor force we use. It's at:

I know, but ya gotta read that thread - it's really funny.

I read it...where were all the blonde virgins when I came out there?

I forgot how good that thread was

About the spam debate - even if it is spam (and I don't think it is), it's Harvey - I really don't think he can be making much money on these phones, and we all have comeback on him on this forum. I really don't think it's the same as some big company plant lurking on here.

Ain't that the truth !! The studio brings in about 10 to 20 times more than what the headphones make each week. I'd be thrilled of I could sell a couple of sets of headphones a day. That doesn't happen.

But it's cool when I get responses like the ones above. Yeah, they're not the best thing since mashed potatos, but they really serve a need in the audio community. And, believe it or not, I get all warm and fuzzy when I know I'm doing something good for people.

Spam vs. Not Spam works like this:

I've got a car forum. A guy who has been helpful on the site and to everyone in person (this is a city based web site) started a repair/performance shop. He comes on the site, lets us know good deals he's got coming in, advanced orders, etc and helps people out. He gets advertisement, the forum gets solid advice and his business reputation is impeccable. Not spam...

Now, someone that no one knows, signs up, get and account posts about his shop/prices/product get deleted. It was entirely one sided.

In this situation Harvey is a HUGE resource to everyone on hear and he didn't even ask for good reviews. Just honest ones.

These Chinese phones come into the country under a lot of different names, Calrad, Califone, Nippon America, Pyramid, Philmore, etc. Some are better than others, some are far worse. Avoid any of them that use a built-in (or in-line) volume controls. They WILL go out on you very quickly.

The Deluxe MoreMe's are modified here by me before they're shipped. The Chinese units I buy seem to be the best of all the phones out there (that all look identical, but aren't). The other problems are shipping and replacements. When I was doing my initial testing of all these phones, some took weeks to get here, didn't work out of the box, or the shipping was outrageous, or no warranty.

Oh! Don't worry I'm not about to buy any of those Headphones. Some guy in one of the other Boards was looking at it and wondering if it was the same. Figured who better than Harvey, since he buys them directly.

If I ever want another inexpensive pair of Headphones, I'm going with some Deluxe MoreMe's.

I only know that when I was testing out different headphones, I found a lot more bad ones than good ones at this price range.

I thought I'd add my support here.

I just received my two MoreMe Studio Deluxe headphones, and yeah, they are definitely damn good value for the money. The price range makes them a consumable, and it means you don't really have to take much care of them. If you have a studio you don't have flinch when people misuse the headphones. It's only $30!

And, they do sound fantasti....no, just kidding, honestly they don't sound very good. Especially, there is like almost no bass. Also I think the high end rolls off slightly, which actually is not a bad thing. The high end is very soft and smooth. I haven't done that much tracking yet, but I get the feeling that they aren't gonna make your ears tired. If it wasn't for the utterly puny bass response, they would have worked well as headphones when you travel. They are closed, and so block out a lot of the noise from the car/train/bus/plane/whatever. And well, you need a clumsy adapter, since the studio deluxe comes with a 1/4" inch plug.

OK, so they don't work fantasic as travel headphones, but that's not the point. Forget that little sidepath. They DO work as studio phones, seem reasonable robust, have a decent sound that doesn't make your ears tired and for that price, you don't have to think twice, really.

Try poping them open and sticking a little padding (foam, whatever) inside the cans and see if that helps bring out a little more of the bottom end. ;)
