I just got it... and I'm totally new to Mastering audio... I'm a really really good mixer... Something I picked up working in the studio when I lived in Las Vegas... but, I never learned to master.. I was just learning Pro-Tools when I moved back to Michigan... and since then (June 2002) I haven't done anything but record and mix, no mastering tools at all...

But now I've picked up T-Racks 24 v 2.0 and I'm really not sure what everything does... I haven't been able to find any tutorials on it through a Google search...

Anyone got any info for me? Especially pertaining to Hip-Hop... I know all music is different when it comes to mastering so... any help is greatly appreciated.

Pieces and Wunz.

T-racks is GREAT!

You should check out Vintage Warmer by PSP.

I've been using it for more than a hot minute, for sure, though I don't generally use it to "master" any 2 track mixes of my own. I send 'em off to people who know better than I what they are doing. I usually use it for a vocal or instrument track & then shoot it back in the multitracker before I go for my final mixdown.

I have done a reasonable amount of 2 track stuff with it for friends of mine & a few clients, and they seem pretty happy with the results.

If you're studio-familiar like you say, then the virtual components are pretty self explanatory. PM me with any specific questions & i'll do what I can to help you out...

It sounds pretty good. Start with a preset and tweak/tame:-) from there.
I liked the "analog warmth" setting when I heard it.

Change, I haven't used T Racks 24, but from looking at IK's site:

Can you bypass the individual modules, or patch them in a different order? If so, try putting the eq after the compressor in the chain, and bypassing the soft-clipping section. And leave the stereo-width control alone.

But also understand why you're patching or not patching something in.

Very, very generally: The compressor section (they state) has a soft-knee response (no threshold??), but with a ratio control. Okay, that should tell you: soft-knee, low threshold (I hope), therefore low ratio. It's just some gentle overall compression, you're not using it as a limiter. Then, the eq for the high or low end you lost from the compressor section, or for the low level rumble/hiss/harshness it brought out. Then the limiter.

For Spin, Flo', and Mountainmirrors: are you using the soft-clip function? How does the limiter sound? For that matter, how do the eq and comp sound?

I heard T Racks sucks. No offense, it's just what I heard. I really like Vintage Warmer, though.

I just messed with it for an MP3.
I won't compare it to paying for a pro - that's what I recommend for anything more than a couple of MP3s you're gonna release.
