anyone tried these headphones?

sennheiser 280, beyerdynamic dt 770m,sony 7506,audio technica athm50....anyone tried these phones?
i have been using soundmagic pl50 to reahearse with band alongside mixer and behringer 4600 headphone amp but they have blown in one ear twice!(the cheaper dynamic phones the rest of the band use are still going strong ) i dont play them at silly volumes as i use in conjuction with a pair of ear defenders,but think it has something to do with the bass guitar? each time the pl50 just ends up with really weak signal in one ear.....untill now really happy with this iem and ear defenders solution but if they keep blowing maybe i should buy decent dynamic phones with good sound isolation?
also can anyone tell me with behringer xl 4600 can i go with high impedance phones?......any advice appreciated greatly.....maff
 
I am a fan of seriously cheap Sony MD150's for tracking. $20. Very loud, and tight fit good for drummers. Problem is, one accidental step/sit on them, and they break. Plastic, frail construction. Disposable headphones that sound good tho. I ordered another 4 pair just now. Friggen drunk musicians! lol.

As far as your weak signal in one ear of the PL50's, are you using an 1/8" to 1/4" adapter? They are shit, and usually the cause of one side cutting out.
 
I have the 280, 770 Pro (not the M), and I used to have the M40 (before it was stolen). I really don't like the 7506's, but then a whole lot of people do. If you're worried about the bass, I'd go with the 280. The 770 isn't as loud, doesn't isolate as much, and is therefor more for checking mixes as opposed to playing live. The 7506's will get, imo, stupid loud, but I find them so hyped as to be somewhat shrill. I didn't get to compare the 280 and the M40 head to head, but from what I remember, the 280 has both better isolation and bass handling capablity, so that's what I would pick for your situation, among those you've mentioned. Can't say first hand about the More Me's, but they have an excellent reputation, as does the guy who sells them, and they're inexpensive, so I'd give them a try. Heck, if you blow them, Harvey will do right by you, I'm sure.

BTW, I've also got the Sony 150's, but I don't know how well they'd work for your purpose. I just use them for my iPod.
 
thanks for your responses will check out the more me's need to see about shipping as i'm in scotland tho.....could get them and a pair of 280's or perhaps shure 215 in my budget and cover both bases? bit worried about goin iem now tho after 2 sets breaking.....i notice they do a 600 ohm version of the sen 280's is there any advantages of getting these?...using with behringer ha 4700 headphone amp
 
If you get matching headphones it makes it easier to share mixes among players. I like the 280s.
 
I have the beyerdynamic 770 pros I got free when I bought my Blue - Blue Bird mic a few years back.
They seem to have a very flat frequency response, and they do a really good job at shielding out-side noise, but not so much that you're ears are killing from the pressure. You still hear a little though. I think they're a little on the duller side ..as in not being a very bright sounding headset, But I think that has more to do with the fact that they have a flat response. You do get the full spectrum of frequency ranges though, I haven't noticed any really bad frequency dips. However, I've never really compared other closed mic choices so I'm not sure how to rate them myself. Good topic , question maff.
