If so, what did you think? I'm assuming it's a Chinese-built amp, not British, but regardless of where it's made, I'm wondering how this new $600 tube amp sounds?

I did own an original AC15 and I am quite familiar with it's sound. I have not heard a re-issue. However, I can get my Vox AD120VT to sound just like an AC-15, AC-15TB, AC30, AC30TB and a bunch of other models.

I've had mine for about 3 plus years and I gig with it. It has taken the abuse of the road without any problems.

I know the AD120VT is more money then the AC15 but it can do so much more. Just my $.02.

Here is some info:

Thanks for the feedback. It seems the AD120VT has been discontinued... how's the AD50VT (around $360) in comparison?

Frankly speaking, I'm still interested in the $600 tube AC15...

I am not familiar with AD50VT. I don't like that metal grill front. If you don't need the wattage, you might want to look for a AD60VT. I need the 120 watts because sometimes our amps are miced and sometimes they are not. On my model there is a Power Select Control switch. I can choose settings from 60 watts down to 1 watt per channel.

Here is a link for the AD50VT:

I would contact Gary at North Coast Music about the Vox Amps. I believe he has many models to choose from. He is great to deal with and you won't find a lower price:

I just saw this post in the classifieds of www.voxtalks.com

"Hi All,
I have a Vox Valvetronix AD120VT that I have owned since new. It has been kept in my climate controlled music room and is in excellent physical and working condition. Looking to get $550 for it.

Thanks!!!

joe"

That's a pretty good deal. You need to register on vox talks to see all of this stuff.

I just got my AC15CC1 a few days ago and I really LOVE IT. I also own the AC30cc.

The AC15 does not (to my ears) have the jangly clean tones of the AC30cc but the overdriven (top boost) tones are beautiful sounding. ive been playing a Gretsch Tennessean with Hilotrons single coil pups (George Harrison guitar) and the sounds are great. Very complex yet smooth dirty sounds. The reverb sounds good and the tremolo is is excellent. The bass response is noticibly good. The amp is about as loud as my Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue which is perfect for recording and home use and small gigs.

For REAL tube Vox tone its highly recomended!

There are a few posts about this new AC-15CC over at PlexiPalace, but they were all quicky-in-the-store first impressions. Nothing conclusive yet...
