Anyone own a Carvin DC400

I had a DC200 custom made about three years ago. As my only electric guitar, it's been very heavily used and has never given me any problems. The craftsmanship is great, and the tone reflects that. I can only assume that the DC400 would be even better.

I have been looking at them for quite awhile.

They are awesome guitars for the price. You cannot go wrong with a Carvin axe.

i've owned a DC-200 for 23 years now....

and it's still kicking ass.

i can attest as to their longevity.

also, their playability.

also, their incredible craftsmanship, to withstand 5 years of full time gigging.....

and their tone, though i did change the pickups out with duncan customs, and now am ready to upgrade again to the bill lawrence.....

but their pickups have a good sound....

...Gonzo-I used to have a Bill Lawrence L-500 I gouged a spot for in my now long gone "kamikaze special" strat copy...that pup screamed!!...

Yap! I've got two L-500's in my C-1 classic and they sound outrageous.

...Eyes-is the C-1 the one with the vine of life on the fretboard?...I want one of those-does it have a bolt-on neck or neck thru body construction?...

The C-1 Classic is the one with vine of life and it is a neck through.

I'm gonna e-bay it next week to get a DC-200 KOA.

...I have been tempted many times to buy the C-1 classic so I am very interested to know what it is you think this ax is not getting done for you...is it lack of whammy?...please explain, Eyes...

I am tempted to buy one as I may be able to come up with the money. Its all the extra cost for the customs I would want that would kill me.

Lack of whammy... No man...
The guitar is awesome, It's just that ever since my DC-200 KOA was stolen I've wanted to replace it with the same guitar.

It's just that it's hard to find a 1981/82 DC-200 KOA with gold hardware and block inlays.

Gonzo has a beautiful DC-200 exactly like the one I had (take GOOD care of that baby gonz)

Check e-bay, there are beautiful DC-400 aniversaries going for $700 to $800.
Flame tops, abalone markers and gold hardware,.. The works!

There is only one listed now..

The guy totally screwed it up with the graphic though... It's a damn KOA to...:( What a waste...

If I am going to buy one it will be straight from carvin. I got screwed last time I spent that kind of money on Ebay.

Yeah, I hear you...

BTW, what happend? Was it a guitar that you bought that gave you problems?

I paid 700.00 for the Lexicon MPXG2 and when it came the guy had not packed it quite as tight as he should. Theres so much shit in it, by the time I found out it was the machine and not the operator it was to late. Sent it out to lexicon to be fixed for a price of 179.00. Still I saved 500.00.
Now I want to sell it. To much programming for me. I just want to be able to bend over and grab a knob.
If I can sell it the ART ultrafoot and the manual for a grand I can buy a Carvin maybe????
