These are available on eBay for about $150 shipped (which seems like a sweet deal to me). I'm curious how good they are.
From the looks of them they should be better then cordura "Bags", but not as rugged as SKBs. I've seen some old-school fiber cases that held up pretty well. Anyone use, or experience these Nomads?
Any commentary/oppinion on Fiber vs. Plastic drum cases?
I threw down $1300 on a gorgeous 6 pc set of Birdseye maple, rims-mount, sonors with my last bonus (it is the kit of my wet dreams). I had planned to keep the new kit at the house, and use my old Tiawan kit for gigging. But I'm totally spoiled by the new kit now, so I'm planning on hauling the Sonors to gigs. The Sonors will never leave without cases though, whereas the cheapy kit didn't really require them. I can maybe scrape $200 together from selling the old shells with some hardware I've outgrown.
I plan on having the kit forever, so even though I don't have the money for it, I may just finance some super hardcore cases that will never fail, to protect my investment on this kit that I could probably never find orphan replacements for if something happens to one of them.
