Anyone know if Sweetwater delivers to Canada?

Yeah, that's what I'll do. I'm going to wait until I get the interface that Chili's sending me in the mail

I think that is scheduled to arrive on the 11th.

When the other guy said no state taxes, that's for purchases within the US. If you live in one state and an online store is in another, then no sales tax, which is nice. But to Canada, who knows??? For sure somebody up there has bought stuff online from the US before. I mean, you're practically the 51st state. You guys are always buying stuff from us. I've been to Toronto, I've been to BC (2 weeks ago!! :D) and you guys are as American as I am, just with that funny accent, eh!

I figure someone like IDO has bought stuff from the states. He's in Vancouver, if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure there are more of us lurking here.

I live in Quebec, so supposedly my accent's even funnier than the rest of Canada's. But mine's better. :D

Here's my experience ...
If it goes by courier, then they pay the duty/taxes then they add a hefty "handling fee". I paid them back for same when it was delivered. There will be GST (based on value) and the handling fee. My $200 compressor had a $40 handling fee tacked on by the courier. I'm not sure about PST as we have none here but I would be prepared for them to charge it just in case.
When I get it via USPS/Canada post you pay $5 handling fee and GST (and probably PST) and you pay it to the postman/driver when they deliver it or at the pick up post office.
I prefer the post office method. I've bought lots of stuff through eBay US.

Thanx Ido. I'm guessing that this means I don't have to worry about that: "....The customs clearance option is a speedier method shipped via Purolator and includes all customs fees with no additional charges upon delivery." "No additional charges upon delivery" has got to mean something close to what they're saying. I can live with paying taxes.

I just got an e-mail back from Sweetwater. it's weird because he said that I don't have to pay taxes but I do have to pay customs, which is strange because it says in plain black and white "....The customs clearance option is a speedier method shipped via Purolator and includes all customs fees with no additional charges upon delivery."

Fuck, at this point, I think I'll just order the thing. I am going to wait until next week, though. I just bought my new monitors, which I'm in love with. I'm also waiting for the new interface to show up. That's enough of a "New equipment high" to keep me going for a week. I'll enjoy this new shit before I order the mic.

There's nothing quite like the feeling of having new stuff to play with is there. :laughings:

Like kids at Christmas! :thumbs up:

I almost forgot. I also bought my dream guitar a couple of months ago. The SG. I can't believe I almost forgot that.....and a new computer a few months before that, and a few other things.......Too many treats!!!! :D

It's awesome. I've been single for almost 3 years. For the last 2 years, I was able to start saving money again, even though my expenses were the same (rent, food, utilities, etc....). But I work more hours, I have steady clients (I work as a personal trainer), and I have a couple of steady drum students. I also had some health problems last year which was a blessing in disguise because now I haven't had a smoke or a drink in about 10 months. Not only does that mean I'm in the best shape I've been in for the last 10 years, but it means I'm spending about $300-400 less a month.

Put all that together, and the fact that I don't owe a penny (I have no credit cards or car payments, etc.....), I've been able to save a few thousand dollars in the bank, and it keeps going up. I almost don't even know what to do with it. So, I'm treating myself to a few treats. Life's too short, baby and I'm enjoying the hell out of it now. :)

That's great! I'm with you on the life's too short part 100% - You got to enjoy every minute of your life and spend all you can. (You can't take it with you) After the year I had so far, I'm treating every day like my last and having the time of my life. Luckily the wife feels the same and is joining me.

That's awesome, man. It sounds like a cliche, but you really got to live it like it's your last one.

But you know....What if you CAN take it with you? Imagine, you get up there at the gates, they open the doors and the first thing they say is "Hey....where's your stuff?".

It does, but you never know when you last day will be. Got to make the most of it and enjoy what you do and what you have.

I'll deal with that when I'm dead. As long as I've got my guitar, I'm laughing. :thumbs up:

I know Anderton's in the UK delivers to the US. I imagine they also deliver to Canada. I've gotten good deals from them in the past. This isn't the answer to the question that you asked, but it is an option. Don't pay any attention to their list price because they'll reduce it and also deduct whatever kind of fucked up taxes they charge UK citizens. :D

sE Electronics sE2200a II C | Sweetwater.comSweetwater just jacked the price of the mic up $50.00 right before my eyes. If anyone remembers when I first posted the above link, it was $249.00. Now it's $299.00.

I thought these guys had a good reputation. Maybe they do, but they just lost me as a customer. The other link that Arcaxis provided, from B&H, still has it for $239.00, which was already a better price, and their price is still the same.sE Electronics 2200a II Cardioid Condenser Microphone 2200A II C

Might not be relevant, but I bought something from B&H in the US and had it shipped to London. I had to pay import tax on top of shipping as they sent it FedEx and declared what it was to customs, which made it the same price as it would have been here (but for a variant of the item not available over here). There weren't any hidden fees I wasn't expecting.

Thanx Johny. I figure it will be about the same price that it would cost me here, but like in your case, I can't get it here. This mic company doesn't seem to be very big here. I think it's a British company. I really want this particular mic, so it will be worth it. The only other vocal mic I'd consider is the Shure SM7b, and that's even more expensive here.

And with B&H you get this extra stuff tossed in...

Includes Free
Kopul Studio Elite 4000 Series XLR M to XLR F Microphone Cable - 20' (6.1 m)
Black Auray PFN-6 Nylon Pop Filter with Gooseneck (6")
Total Value $37.94

Sweetwater would likely match price if you wanted to dick around on the phone with them, but they probably wouldn't do the extra stuff. B&H prices have been known to change around occasionally and it may depend on what their supplier price is.
Looks like this is what I`ll do. Thanx man. You`ve helped me out a lot in the last 48 hours with this issue and my TASCAM issue. You`re the man.
