Seems like many or most pre-2002 Fender Blues Junior amps have an an annoying hiss in the reverb circuit. The new ones have a redesigned reverb circuit, but I'm wondering if anyone got Fender to repair their hissy Blues Jr. and if so, what was done to it.

Thanks!

Just turn it off, reverb sounds better after the speakers anyway.

just kidding... I have had no noticeable issues with the reverb on my Bjunior, bought december '98.

It's an interesting problem. In about half of the ones made before the final "D" revision of late '01, there's an annoying hiss noticeable at lower volumes. Owners can check this by removing any input, turning all pots full off and then turning up the reverb pot. After about "4" there is a hiss that gets worse as the reverb level is increased.

Though there have been innumerable complaints about this problem - which is certainly more noticeable at low volume - as far as I can tell there has never been a diagnosis nor fix proposed. Fender redesigned the whole reverb circuit in the "D" revision, but has never said what caused the problem in earlier versions, much less why some with the same circuit will have it right out of the carton and others never do.

Very mysterious...
