Anyone built their own case for a head?

Flight cases are so damn expensive, but im gonna have to get something to protect my new head when it arrives. I was thinking it'd probably come in some sort of card box, maybe i could give the card box a plywood shell?

Shop around at antique stores and junk shops. They often have old wood boxes or old hard luggage at reasonable prices. You may well be able to find something to fit.

I am building a cardboard box one for my combo. Its not the best, but will work for now. I dont travel much and play 1-2 times a month only.
