Anybody wanna play?

Thanks!

I was hoping for a few more submissions, that way we can compare the different versions of each song.
I'm sure your take on the Boogie in E would be interesting too...since we all probably have a different approach to the same piece.

I'm playing along to the updated Am blues track right now. Just downloaded it, so I probably won't track tonight, but I'll put something up when I do.

Or maybe I will track tonight. Here's my take on the Am blues thingy:

(For the curious: homemade tele, neck pickup, into an Epi Valve Jr, with just a hair of OD from a Liquid Blues pedal, recorded with a Kel HM-2D, all black cables)

hmmmm .... did 3 of 'em tonight ..... can't get 'em uploaded for some reason ...... I'm going to bed ...... I'll figure it out later.

it's later ....... ok let's see ........... YAY!!! :)

ok ..... here's one ...... it'll probably be a day or two before I upload the other two 'cause they require a little mixing.

nice sound ...... curiously I used my valve jr. also. But I went with clean. I have that Liquid Blues pedla ..... nice comp. on that.

The Am Blues track was real easy/fun to play to...it's so slow and mellow, you can almost do anything you want.
I did like 5-6 passes back-to-back, and then just picked the one I liked best...took about 30-40 minutes.
The Boogie in E was bit more work...just to find the right vibe. :D

Hey...I have that Liquid Blues pedal too...got it when they had that promo sale for like $75 or something.
I haven't used it much on anything, just messed around with it...but then, I tend not to use pedals too often, even though I have a bunch and keep telling myself to use some on the next recording I do...then I end up still going with just the amp. :)

Yeah...nice stuff guys....

I'm the same way with pedals...probably have between 20 and 30--all powered up and daisy chained together; some even on A/B switches. But when I play 90% of the time it's just one--a little delay--between my guitar and my legacy.

The other 10% of the time I'm likely to use this Liquid Blues (same $75 deal, BTW) in front of one of the smaller tube amps.

Maybe if I gathered and sold the rest, I could buy a new guitar. Hmmm...

Lol. Does the guitar sound out of tune? Cuz I didn't tune it or warm up or anything. This is one shot, one kill, flubs and all. I just dropped the backing track a half step instead of tuning up my guitar. :laughings:

I didn't notice it so if it is out of tune it's not bad.

And that's the point of this for us ..... a quick rundown. On mine the guitar is the second pass and the sax is first take.

I have a version of the boogie coming but mine isn't nearly as true to the genre as yours so it'll be sucky compared to teh gergs'.

Lol. Whatever, mine is an ass sammich. Some of you guys can actually play.

I gotta say though, I listened to someone's boogie up there, and the tone is all wrong. :D

dude ...... I know you don't care but you're a first rate player IMO. Your version is fun and energetic and has the vibe perfect. I could never do that. When I stick my boogie take up, if you listen to it, you're gonna see that I'll have way too many notes and it came out more like jazz swing after I was done with it whereas yours is the exactly correct thing to complement the track.
I'm not blowing smoke here 'cause I know you don't care at all and that's fine. But you have a knack for finding the appropriate thing to play and that's a skill that's pretty cool.
I'd post my boogie but I gotta go sleep a little before I head on off to the cruel cruel world.
:)

Well thanks boob. I don't know. Maybe my intentionally limited scope keeps me from overdoing things. Maybe you are too good for your own good. :D

There's a Motel 6 down the road....they have available rooms. :D

;)

Damn dude--that was smooth; I loved both approaches! I could listen to that one all day.
