Unpossible!
OK, I have it uploaded. I'm gonna double check it tonight, and start a new thread tonight or tomorrow......
Thank's for the info ms, I almost missed it.
The question still stands, What's the prize?
Where's the details of this contest?
or are you making sure it's properly hosted before you start, in which case the question should have been, Anyone interested in hosting a mixing competition?
I probably won't win, but if it's for a prize I might try!!!
I may dig up a prize
I'm about to change over mic models, which will mean I have a number of orphans I can give away.
That would be cool! You wanna judge too?

I've never done one of these, cause it's kinda like free work, but I might give it a shot this time around.

Think of it more as a free learning experience. You are not really working for anybody, it's just to learn. It's not one of those "will somebody mix my song for free" type things. This is an already completed project that the band I recorded OK'd the use of one of their tracks for a learning exercise.
I know it's not like a mix my song for free type of thing, but a lot of time and effort goes into making a good mix
But a lot of people wouldn't have the opportunity to mix a well tracked song if a mix contest wasnt offered.

It is a pretty well tracked song by a pretty tight band. I got over-rode on a few things, so the tracks aren't quite what I'd hoped they would be, but there is certainly room to make some VERY good mixes. I have had to undo some of my edits, and that has turned into a royal PITA. I'm glad I double checked (already had it uploaded). Hopefully I got it all right now. If anybody wants to volunteer to check it out before I post, that would be helpful - it should be finished uploading in about 2 hours.
Can I get in on this? I doubt my version will be very good, but it would be nice to have something to practice with and it would be a great learning experience.
Oh, can can I use Reaper to participate? Will the project be exported as wav files?
Thanks!
As NL5 said, there will be a NEW THREAD when the contest starts. Everybody can get in, the raw tracks are .wavs, and it doesn't matter what DAW you use. You can even do an OTB mix if it floats your boat!
Ahh, sorry, I missed that. I'm horrible about skimming over forum threads! There are so many that pique my interest and I feel like I have to read every one of them.
OTB mix? I Googled but can't find the definition of that...
Thanks!
