Anybody ever used a Mackie Blackbird?

Hey guys. Just wondering if anybody has ever used a Mackie Blackbird interface before?
I'm thinking of getting it as my first ever piece of equipment for my studio. Going to use it to record my drums which will eat up all 8 of the analog inputs. Plan on using at to record my band as well.

Mackie | Onyx Blackbird Audio Interfaces - 16x16 Firewire Interface

Has anybody used this piece of equipment before? Anything I should know about? Thanks in advance!

There's another thread from this guy in the Newbies section. Hard to tell from the photos are the front two inputs on this combo inputs - they don't look like XLR?

Yes, I believe they are. I think all 8 analog inputs are Combo XLR/Line inputs.
