Anybody else played a live show in the dark?

This short video might make you smile. We were playing underground, in a cavern in Cornwall (UK) when the lights went out - we asked the crowd if we should stop and wait as the PA was still on, but somebody yelled - nah, just play - so we did. This is a clip I found on an old computer drive - shot on a gopro.
The lights come on half way through!
 
Closest I came was playing a restaurant at dinner time - 50s-60s oldies. All the main lights went dark in the middle of a song, and a single black light on the ceiling at the side of the stage was lit. All I could see were some white threads in my shirt and a bunch of white teeth in the room. I didn't know I could play without looking.
 
A friend of mine put an LED light strip along the top of neck of his bass guitar. He said some of the places are so dark that you can't see any fret markers. He tells me it works like a charm.
