Any way to tell Cubase to "refresh" my remote device?

I'd like to be able to make Cubase "refresh" my remote device (I'm using a BCF2000 as a generic remote.)

Basically, I want Cubase to transmit all of the current values that it's set to transmit to the generic remote.

The reason that I want to do this is because I want to be able to switch between presets on my BCF2000 and have the fader/knob/button positions on the BCF2000 stay aligned with the parameters in Cubase that they're set to control/be controled by.

This may sound a bit confusing, if anyone has any questions please ask and I'll elaborate on this.

Thanks for any help! =)

In the device set-up menu where you select your controller, at the bottom there is a reset button hit that and it will reset your controller to what you have open in Cubase, I think that is what you are talking about

This is exactly the function that I'm looking for.

Now, I'm trying to map this function to a button on my Generic Remote Device. I know how to map functions to a Generic Remote Device, but I can't seem to find a way to map this particular function.

Do you know how to do this, if it's doable?

I will look at that tonight when I get home, but I dont think you can map that particular function. :o

If you really can't map it, then that's a shame. When using a generic remote device, if you have multiple presets loaded on that device which you want to switch between while working on one project in Cubase, you will run into a little problem, unless your generic remote device refreshes the current values on ALL of its presets when it receives refresh data from Cubase.

The problem is that any preset's current values will only be as up to date as the last refresh message which that particular preset has received. The presets which were not active when the latest refresh data was sent to the controller will have out-of-date values (which will translate into incorrect (old) fader/knob/button positions.)

For example, I have track volume settings mapped to 8 sliders on my generic remote device on Preset 1, and I have the same configuration on Preset 2. I start out with both Preset 1 and 2 being up to date with the values to which their controls are assigned to transmit to/receive from in Cubase. If I then move a slider on Preset 1, the value to which it's assigned in Cubase will move with it. However, if I then switch to Preset 2, that slider's position will be in the position that it was in BEFORE I moved the slider as described in the previous sentence.

The only other solution that I can think of is to get a Generic Remote Device that records ALL data that is mapped to any of its presets upon receiving such data, regardless of whether that data is used in the active Preset. I don't know if this is at all standard, but I've tested and discovered that my BCF2000 does not do this (unless there's some mode that can be switched on that will make it begin to do this... I'll have to check with Behringer about that.)

Anyway, if anyone finds out for sure about whether the Refresh Generic Remote command in Cubase can be mapped to a Generic Remote Device, I'd appreciate hearing about it.
