Anyone try this? It looks like it's easy to sign up. Just wondering what the results were. Also, it looks like there's ways for CD baby to get you up on ITunes as well. Anyone? Anyone?

just signed up on cdbaby... still awaiting results because they have a certain rotation where they report earnings and such

Just out of curiosity, what cut does I-Tunes take? I have read that the major labels get 60-70% of the $1 per tune they charge.

If you go through CDBaby, I believe you as the artist get 90% or so of the sale. CDBaby has some of that info. As far as putting your songs on I-Tunes independently, I really couldn't tell you.

Here's the Digital Distribution info from CDBaby:

Hello. My band has our 2nd cd available on itunes courtesy of CD baby. Seems to be working out fine. Looks like they post the sales report about 1 month after the sales. We got 70 cents per song purchased at 99 cents. If you want to see what our itunes page looks like, search for "the no-no boys". The CD is called "hipNOtherapy". I'm not sure if artists can modify the page they set up for you.. It's not the most exciting looking.. anyone know?

3 months?! damn. that sucks. well i guess we can stop holding our breath. thanks for the heads up. by the way, was that 3 months from when they showed sending it to them or 3 months from sending in your stuff to CD Baby?

about 3 months from cdbaby sending it in to the digital places... that's when we got information back that we had actually sold some songs

Thanks guys this is the kind of info I'm looking for....

Hey, my bands EP is on itunes. Search "Roselind" ...it's a self-titled release. Cdbaby times vary...i know that they had our music on itunes one month after we sent it to them...I guess certain times are busier than others. iTunes is a GREAT place to have your music! Good luck!
