im mixing my drum tracks with tracktion and needed to know if there was a way to cut out the dead space between sections of a song. the tracks are saved individually as six different .wav files. the click track from my headphones can be heard through the drum tracks when i am not playing drums though. if there was a way to cut out all of the in-between parts itd be cool if someone could teach me how to delete it or turn the volume down.

please note: i am not recording directly to tracktion so i can not punch in and out durring the recording process.

thanks alot.

click on the wav file in the track in question. Move the curser to about where you want to make a cut. With the wave file selected (Outlined in red), click the "/" key. You'll create a splice. Now, notice the little arrows on the upper right and upper left of any wav file in Tracktion (or any sliced section of wav file). if you drag them right or left, you either hide or reveal the entire file (hard to verbalize, but when you do it, you'll know what I mean.)

That is how you edit in Tracktion and I must say love the program. I've used Protools LE and N-Track extensively and Tracktion works perfectly with my brain. (different strokes for different folks, of course).

thanks a whole lot for the help guys.

i too like tracktion for what i use it for. not only is it simple but it gets the job done. to top it all off, i got it for free!

thanks again everyone.
