Yes jpmorris..i saw that, but it will be to risky to buy this..he says that it powers on,but doesn't work properly...and i don't know much about electronics in order to locate and fix the problem....there is one more in german ebay, but the seller said to me, that he doesn't ship to Greece(Athens),where i live.He also doesn't know if his RX-9 works ok when connected to a reel to reel deck.He claims only that all the leds lit when is plugged.
Thanks for the help anyway

I would look for a DX4d from tascam. I am almost positve it will work with your machine. Its newer and is alot easier to use than the old dx9. The Dx9 has old manual relays init. and you have to fool wiith the switches on it. Go for the Dx4d.

Hern..i have heard again about this suggestion because of the rx-9 relay issues. In order to work the dx-4d properly with the A3440,a modification needs to be done.

1)so after the mod,you don't need the signal control cable to be connected to TEAC A3440 right?
2)If you record with dx-4d,you have to playback with the dx-4d connected.Right?

You dont have to do any mods to the dx4d. THe dx4d works on any machine that a dx9 does. And yes if you record something with any dbx you need to use dbx to play it back

I see...so when this modification is needed? Is the A3440 fully compatible with the TASCAM DX-4D without any mod?I will try this as soon as i buy the DX-4D.

Here is what I know for a fact about the teac rx9 and dx4d. The rx9 was built for the 3440 and the teac/tascam 22-4. Shortly after they came out with the 38 series of recorders. along with dx4d. When I look at the schematics for the dx4d and the tascam 22-4 they have the same wiring to acomadate each other. Out of the 6 tascam 22-4,s and 6 dx4ds I have had in the last 10 years. All of my dx4ds worked with the tascam 22-4,s which in turn should work with a 3440 with no issue at all. with no modification.
