Hey, are you deaf? I dont ask you for description of the whole process of recording, but interesting tricks from own experience. I use search option everytime and if it were enough i wouldn`t ask you here.
Moreover i have a little knowledge about it and i dont want to make sparkle shit. Making demo in studio is too expensive and not necessary. I have thought that here are people with interesting conceptions and ideas who can add something fresh to ordinary way of recording.
If not, so sorry, i have just asked.

Hey, are you retarded? I hope you're not from an English speaking country.

If I were a band with limited tools (which, no offense, sounds like you guys) I would go to a studio and have someone else take care of the recording. You still have to have a "vision" though- nobody, with the exception of a hired producer, will tell you how to make your music.

So what you're basiclly asking us is "How do you make a turd sparkle?"

What did you expect. . .a detailed description of the entire recording process?

Ohohooh,, I know this one.

To make a turd sparkle, drink a bottle of Goldschlager! (sp may be incorrect)

OK, seriously. Here's a trick I use to keep the high-hat out of the snare. I have no idea how well it works, but I do it anyway.....and you wanted SOMETHING.

I posted this in another thread, but here's the pix anyway.

I like your baseball cap shield idea. Genius! I need to remember that.
Not sure about the cap touching the snare skin though. Maybe try selotaping it to the outer shell rather than leting it touch the skin.

Just an idea.

Dont threat. No need to worry any more.
Just buy one of these bad boys.

Cool, thanx.

Actually, the cap touching the drum really doesn't change anything. It's not wedged hard in there. Just sitting in the space, barely touching the skin. But taping it on the outside wouldn't be a ad idea, either.

I heard somewhere that a 57 fits perfectly into the opening of a plastic milk gallon, and you can cut off the top half and use that as a shield. Also, cut a hole in a styrofoam cup. Haven't tried either of these.

also the original poster is an engineer badass. I really liked his pioneering use of the terms "fat boys" and "sparkle shit". At least he's creative. I'm gonna give him some positive rep+++++ for his efforts.
