I have Vegas Video 2 and I was wondering if there is anything that is a must have in Vegas Video 3. Other than 93hz/24bit recording (which I can't do due to my weak CPU).

thanks

According to SF's comparison between VV2 & VV3 - these are the only items that VV3 has and VV2 does not:

Red Book Audio CD mastering and Video CD burning
Video Batch Capture
DV scene detection
CD audio extraction
Dynamic RAM previewing
New DV codec

AND they list these as "What's new in VV3"

New Sonic Foundry DV Codec

New MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 Encoder

New Video Effects and Generators

Video Batch Capture with Scene Detection

Print-To-Tape From Timeline

Video CD and Data CD Burning

Red Book Audio CD Mastering

Windows Media™ File Editing

So as far as just audio multitracking nothing earthshattering (except for 96hz/24bit support).

thanks

Right - that is the way it seems.

There are general UI improvements in VV3. Like, when you drag a track, it's envelopes move with it (I think this wasn't possible in VV2). Generally I find the UI better all around, plus performance is much better.
