There is a list on http://www.annoyances.org/
right on the front page about all the software that SP2
will break. Check it out.

There are 3 links 1/2 way down the page.

Matt
Thanks for the link.
I guess since I don't really have much of what is listed (except Norton security) I must be OK....

Would this be what is called thread drift? :)
Caused by people who are on here so much that they have to talk about something to fill all the time clicking 'refresh' to see if there are any new replies.

Ooh, a little bit of trivia for you all! It, er, takes one to know one. :o

Yeah, I saw my face in the mirror when I read that too! :o :o :o

Despite the fact that I listed the http://www.annoyances.org site,
I have to come clean on something.

I am an IT guy for a living, and have not yet on more than 25 computers,
seen XP SP2 cause any harm. It has caused issures for some people for sure there's no doubt, but I think the cases are few and far between.

From my somewhat minimal amount of experience with SP2 I would backup but then do the upgrade with confidence.

Thank you for your honesty. I haven't had any problems with SP2, but then that doesn't mean they aren't there. I haven't heard of anybody who's PC was damaged from it either. I think it's more of a performance issue on some pc's. It may affect different pc's different ways, just like freeware and shareware will mess up some pc's and not do anything to others...
