any idea why?

the mix coming from my daw will sound great on my monitors....even sound great when dubbed on to cassete and played through various stereo's but when i mixdown to wav and burn to cd the cd sounds like crap

how are you mixing to a .wav file...and when you make casette dubs, are you just playing your multitrack playback and doing a mix on the fly when making your dubs on cassette? What step is different?...Sounds like you are making on *last* mix to a .wav file and that is what is screwing it up.
