Usually, this time of year you'll see GC blowing something out for ridiculously cheap.
Anyone see anything worth noting this year?

i'm heading to GC on the 31st, which is my wife's birthday and she wants to go to richmond for pizza, so i get to go to GC while we're there. i'm hoping to find a cheap les paul, strat or jazz bass. but i might get surprised.
cheers,

that's a great score and i'm quite jealous!
cheers,

It indicated that there was a lower trend in actual purchases and a higher trend in "gift cards" and A LOT of the gift cards haven't been redeemed yet. Retailers are getting savvy to the after holiday shopping spree that a lot of us get sucked into and are holding out. Retailers don't get to "realize revinue" until after the gift cards are redeemed for actual merchandise exchange.
On the other hand, there are good deals out there but you'll probably find them at the local store level in the way of over stock. Big wharehousing companies might not feel the same pressure to move product unless they've got product that will become obsolete or they can't move later in the year. Clothing for example...retailers will most likely be motivated to move some of the seasonal goods but electronics...not so much.
That's my view.
