Yo JS- I don't give a shit whether you're black, or poor, or uneducated, or what. What you are is a gear panhandler, and you really are in the wrong place, you should be sitting on a grate on the lower east side with your crutches, and a sign that says "will record for food".
There was a time when I was on the street, with no address, no social security nomber, no bank account, no money, no driver's license, no health insurance, and no one who cared whether I lived or died, selling blood plasma to get over. Today, I am a graduate of 2 universities, a Registered Nurse, and a recording artist. I own a modest recording studio, worth about $35,000, and I will be releasing my first commercial CD in about a month.
Gee, when I can remember who gave me a fucking thing for free, I might pass some of it on to you to balance my karma, but I'm having a lot of trouble remembering when that was. Gee, I seem to remember a series of really shitty jobs, and burns from spot welding. Pulling railroad ties in the hot sun, shoving tarragon into vinegar bottles, putting flocking on Christmas trees, standing up to my ass in garbage in the back of a garbage truck breathing diesel fumes and rotting garbage.
If you think you're going to inherit cheap gear here because you're brazen enough to beg for it, God, I hope you fail. You don't *need* recording gear anymore than I *need* a new American Telecaster. There is only one thing stopping you from going out and making your dreams happen, and it's not your age, your race, your class, or your location. It's you're attitude. You choose not to spell English properly? Fine. I choose not to give free gear to a wanker who shows no inclination to do a lick of honest work for it. Ask Rimshot what I do for somebody who needs gear, and is poor, in New York. I sent him a boatload of gear, and guess what? He's already returned it all, after replacing it with the stuff he earned the money to buy. Stop wasting your time begging on this board and get a fucking job.-Richie
