OR... the Ortofons will push in 1 to 3 of the 4 contacts inside of the tonearm, which in that case you will have to purchase a new tonearm. And that gets very, very exspensive. :(

GRRR I've tried this.. bleedin cocksuking lard arse bitchpiss drinking cumsucking piece of shit!
But they're still too good not to use with a Night Club needle... I've got my weight on 2 grammes from now on though, so I hope it won't happen again.

The Techies are the most popular because they're allmost invunurable... People have them for 20 years, they spill bear on them, piss on them, have swedish people as guests in their house and they still play perfectely after a few adjustments every 4'th year.

I was saying that the Ortofons that look like "little fingers" were the ones that "push in" the contacts on the inside of your tonearm.
That is why I was suggesting to all of my friends here HR.com to use the Ortofon cartridges that attach to the the Technics headshells. :)

then what the heck was wrong with my tonearm then??? hmmm
After reading your post I figured one of the 4 little contacts must have been damaged somehow that way, cause suddently the left channel was severely lower than the right... Really nasty problem... Tried to clean the connecting points, but no matter... and it was the tonearm, cause changing it solved the problem.
Ortofon Concorde with Nightclub needle...

I'm glad that I could be of some help to you. :)

wait a sec.. technics headshells.. aren't they extemely, extremely noisy?

how can a headshell create noise???
Thats physically unpossible.

Btw, spinning breakbeats and other stuff since 93' on 3 1210's (got the first of them from Peter Rauhofer (who is now remixing madonna) when he was doing his first 7th district inc. productions)

well i've tried a few of them technics and when you put your hand next to it, it started humming. it isn't creating any noise itself, it's just resonating too much from the environment...

hi chriss
when you put your hand next to it, it started humming.
although the ground cable is connected carefully?
i have never experienced this problem if the turntable is connected correctly.
cheers, M

Yea, both tables grounded to the ground knob of the mixer, allthough the mixer itself had no real ground wire.. just a matter of stabalizing the negative flow anyway... should be sufficient...

It was awfull anyway.. the volume meter went up to -15 db and sometimes -10 when you put your hand next to it..

i only know these ground loop problems if you are using too long cables or the amp, turntables or the mixer are on different power outlets. Then the potential differenc caused by electromagnetic radiation can cause different ground levels between amp/turntable and mixer which results in hum.

yea, but the Concordes were as silent as usual... I only had the techies over for a test.. damn expensive, 250$ a pice or something. H25 as far as i can remember.. with that humming i just took em right back to the shop.

when you put your hand next to it, it started humming.
If you are getting a hum from the headshell when you touch it, then there is a problem with one of the wires that connect between the cartridge and the headshell.

peace... :)

k, now that's interessting.. maybe the shop d00d had set it up wrong... he was a complete tard, so it wouldn't surprize me.
