Any Akai GX266ers out there?

After being away from analog R-R for a few years I'm getting ready to get back into it.Any Akai users have some tips?

Yes, I have many of Akai's models here that I use.
Not exact the 266 model but probably 25 other models.
What do you want to know,
maintenance, problems or ?

I finally got my machine up and running in the last few days.I've had it for a while.One of the pots was scratchy so it took a while to take it apart and get some WD-40 on it,but it runs like a champ now(knock on wood).I don't want to get into doing much maintenance myself but what can I do that's simple?I never did anything to my previous deck which was a Fostex.

The most important is to clean the travelpath and tension-arms. a The pinch-roller shaft every 6 months = unscrew the cover and pull out the pinchroller carefully, don't loose the small feltwasher behind the cover = clean the shaft and put one small drop of light machine-oil on the shaft. Use a Q-tip for the center-hole of the pinch-roller and re-assembly.
If the heads and and all guides were the tapes travels clean and smooth just enjoy it.
When or "if" you notice some problems or misbehaving, then take action.
