we don't need rest!!
After demo-ing the mic modeler now for a bit, I find that the plugin is extrememly subtle, and except for some of the Shure models, that many are incredibaly hard to distinquish from one another...especially in a mix..or even side by side for that matter. I have had several other people comment the same also in my control room. Also, the tube saturation settings seems more like a volume control (with a bit of distortion wanting to creep in at high settings) and I don't hear the sound being *warmed up* at all. I have read that the modeling with some tweaking may emulate pretty closely some of the mics, but I found that it just seemed to be a low shelving filter that was in place...or a single band parametric for that matter. I wasn't too impressed to buy it...WAY TOO SUBTLE...and I know...sure that can be the name of the game.
I use a pair of JBL 4311's and a set of Auratones with an Alesis RA100 power amp in a 10 x 12 room.
Any other opinions out there?
BTW, I find the autotune plugin a true gem and very useful..not to mention a session saver when the player has left the building.
