i've got 7 songs complete, towards my 3rd official album release....
this is another new song trial mix,
working up final mixes on this one now.
any suggestions?

this started out as an instrumental,
as a lot of mine do.......
and morphed into something completely different.

During the first minute, the guitars on either side are very up front compared to the vocal, which seems to be sitting at the center of 'back of the room' in comparison - if this is the effect you want, it works! When all the electric stuff starts, the vocal continues to be 'back there' - until 2:40 when it is doubled, but that only lasts for 5 seconds, which seems strange, but the vocal in this section is more 'up front'.
The bass guitar could be a little louder, guitars and drums all sound good.

Hey, I'm working on my 3rd album too - I've got 20 songs in some mixing stage or other. The hard part is going to be knocking that list down to 12 or 14 songs - I've only got one on the drop list so far.

alright MJB,
thanks for the help!

it WAS the effect i wanted, with the vox in the mix,
especially in the cans,
that's how i felt about the subject matter, and the lyric backs it up,
and i thought i'd try to present the feeling in the mix..

maybe that just doesn't work!
LOL

but i'm still experimenting with VERB, versus DELAY,
and maybe i'll try a more frontward vocal mix, and see how that works.

i've got 8 finished songs now,
and about 8 on my 'drop' list!

heheh

Just tried to listen, but it seems as though the track's been removed?
