I see deaf people
recorded this last week on my new PC, woo hoo...but then I got man flu, boo hoo...tried mixing it yesterday and today but my ears are still a bit blocked

SHADOWS

hopefully one of you chaps can tell me if the bass is OK...Im struggling to hear it a bit with this deadly disease (isnt it the top end that goes when you get older??)

anyhoo hope to give some tunes a listen as soon as I can shake this

thanks for any listens/comments...btw its filmed in full dubstep jerkovision ;)

I gotta say, I don't care for that type of stuff usually, but I liked it! I'll be hitting you up for a collab in the near future with a metal/techno band that wants this type of stuff intertwined with their metal vibe. If you would be willing to do such a thing.

Hope you feel better soon.

Peace,

Jimmy

hey thanks Jimmy...when i can shake this im going to remix a track I did with Joeym...its a metal/electro thing...bloody brilliant stuff from Joe on it...you might like it

hit me up any time, Im going back to Europe for a month or two but will be around after that :)

This tune is fantastic, one of the most creative dark bizzare tracks I've heard in a long time. I wouldnt change anything in this mix/track. Damn I wish I knew how you get those bass sounds, f#@kin primal, the mix sounds huge. The push-pull in some parts of the groove are reminiscent of the best Brian Eno, David Byrne shit. Really impressive Keith, I'll listen again tomorrow, really enjoyed this one !!!

I'm listening on a laptop at work so NO bottom end at present.
I really like the Ghost Town references and teh 2Tone meets Tangerine vibe.
I look forward to listening at home this arvo - or is that listen forward to hearing?
Your axe skills are impressive in the non shredding field.

really glad you liked it..im stoked :) :o

Hi Ray..thanks for giving it a spin..I think I may have got the bass OK..i was near deaf yesterday with blowing my nose

Im enjoying adding a little "real" instruments now...even if it is only four or five notes lol

got your updated track..going to stick in on the daw tomorrow to give it a blast, my fave virtual band so lookin forward to it ;)

Wow, dude. This mix is so bizarre... I love it! The breakdown in the middle really had me trippin'. So, so, so creative, dude. Seriously crazy. The drums are simultaneously muffled-sounding and HUUUUGE. Love the alternating HP-filter on the snare, too..

Not my cup of tea, music-wise, but man alive. You know how to do some seriously interesting electronica.

Thanks so much for sharing. You make me wanna break out my Radias.... alas... if there were only 32 hours in a day.

Seriously enjoying this tune. Those burbly bass bomb dives are killr. Did you break out the little Phatty on this one? I used to spend some time over on the Project 5 forums where they're big on electronica, listened to some of their stuff, but nothing I can recall as good as this

I sure do. This track gets really intense at about 1:10.

Someone else mentioned that Massive was really great. I have the NI elements that has some Massive, but I didnt install it, because the synth bass sounds I created (on other software) got some nasty feedback (Lol) so I've been using Trilian which has more stock bass sounds. You must know how to use all those old moog type synth controls, Ive never learned them.:(

I'm looking forward to hear what you did with Joey. Its cool your workin on collabs. (RedOne hit the jackpot when he hooked up with Stephanie Germanotta ;)) I think he's got some of the best bass sounds in Pop music. I say that cuz IMO bass sound/melody is what makes that genre, and you do it very well bro.

Thanks Jason...I m glad the mix is working out so well...i just bought an overclocked quad core so i can be really excessive with effects without having to buss them all and worry about the CPU limit being hit...I hope I can get much more creative now

the muffled parts, the bongos, were a mistake...I automated the wrong EQ frequency..I quite liked it so I left it...how experimental lol ;)

really glad this didnt fall on its face..thanks for listening and the positive comments

Thanks man...yeah the phatty is on pretty much everything from now on....i wasnt sure it was the synth i was looking for with this genre but its doing nicely..i dont even midi it, just play it and twiddle the knobs..great synth

Pete

If you have Massive install it...i never used it on anything until i watched a tutorial on making dubstep/D&B basses and it really does shine..

I can send you some patches then its just a matter of automating the modulation...that gives it the wub wub wobble..the patches are pretty easy to make once you figure out whats whats, Ive replicated them on the moog for some healthy meat as well..as in the "on the brink" track

The Joey tracks an older one...but Im thinking of making it more dubstep as my original mix was never great...no matter what I did..I dunno why every now an then a mix is just completely out of reach...most of the time its just straightforward

Wow dude, this started out as pretty amazing, but the stupid soundclick player crapped out on me over and over. I hate soundclick. Send me a full-tilt high-quality version, cuz I was really enjoying it.

bloody soundclick..I couldnt get soundcloud to work last night but now it is, this is a 320kbps version...does it work??

I love it. My new favorite from the ghetto. I love the deep "wrooow" electrical sound. WTF is that? And believe it or not, it's too short! You actually left me wanting more. Very well done, holmes. Very, very well done.

wtf have you done with Greg you bastard!!!

lol geez thanks man...thats great, really is... I like the ska/reggae type thing you can add to these tracks, man I think Ive finally found something I can do that doesnt sound like 198fucking7 ;)

+1000 to that "wrooow"! What is that? Really dood, I think you are on to something very eerie and cool here. I had to listen again. I don't even do that for music in my typical genre. I say go with more like this and I'll buy it.

Love the reverb on the drums. Some of it gave me a little Aphex Twin vibe (more the mood than any particular sound or beat - I don;t think it "sounds" like AT)

Cool song man.
