Another question for the (nonexistant) Logic Audio Forum!!!

I think I have finally solved the idiotic problems I have been having. But OF COURSE another problem was waiting to spite me. Anyway, I have finally gotten my Logic Audio Platinum and Delta 66 to "work together" enough to give me more than 4 tracks of audio without giving me the "ASIO audio engine could not process information fast enough..." message. I can now record hopefully more than 4. However... I can't fecking create the 5th 6th 7th etc... track in the arrange window. I have long ago deleted all but 4 audio tracks in the arranger page. Now I want to know how to create audio tracks. When I do the CTL + ENTER keystroke, (or use the FUNCTION commands above[as explained on page 3-3 of the Logic manual) I get a track... but it isn't track 5. It is simply a mirror image of track 4. I can switch it to "look like" track 5, but it still doesn't add a new row of dials in the environment page, and when I click on "R" to record, the track above it (#4) comes on exactly like it does. I am not at all sure what I should do. I have the OMNI studio and so far I have been recording everything on input 1 and 1-2 output. I haven't even begun to mess with more inputs, especially since I am a one man band at the moment.
Does anyone know what I am talking about here, because I was/am quite surprised at this problem.

are you using version 4.7. If you are using 4.6 or below, I suggest you get the free update to 4.7

If you are using 4.7,

click on an audio track in the arrange window. Now go to function, Create new track. Create as many as you want.

Now, they all say (audio track 4)
in the arrange window, click on "audio track four" and hold. It will show you where to select the audio track for it. You can also make it a midi track or instrument track here. Just make it audio 5 and so on.

Before you do this, Go to audio hardware and drivers,
go to asio(or whatever driver you are using) and make sure that

"maximum audio tracks" is more than 4. Make it at least 16.
 
CRTL+SHIFT+ENTER should work. Or you could just try the command in the functions-menu. I don't know what it's called in english, I am using the german version. Should be something like 'create next track' or 'create following track'.

I do thank you all for your help. But I have already tried everything that you all mentioned and it still is all f&§%ed up! When I click on Audio track 4 in the arranger page, then either use the keystrokes or the FUNCTION commands to bring up a new track, you are right.... no matter how many I create, they all say track 4. However when I click and hold on each one to change it to track 5 and 6 and 7 etc.... then I hover over AUDIO then AUDIO TRACK, and then there are only 4 tracks available. Number 4 having a check by it. So of course I went to the "Audio Preferences" and I knew I already had the number of tracks set at 16. So it can not be a "Maximum Number of Tracks" problem.

Also... if I create a MIDI track (CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER) or the function commands, then I try to change it to an audio track with the same click and hold method.... then I get a longer list of TRACKS to change it to... 1-16 to be exact. but when I change it to track 5, then track 4 changes into track 5 as well and track 4 is gone. Then when I click on "R" for record on track 5, the previous track 4 (which is now transformed as if by magic into track 5) lights up as well and is simply a clone of track 4.

MAN... that was a mouthful. I just hope that it is a dumb ass mistake on my part and not another reason so contact e-Magic.
