AMAZING!

Simply amazing man, nice to show these older people what us kids can do sometimes(i'm 15). I haven't tried the singing path yet because i don't own a microphone that wouldn't be completely horrible sounding, and my genre of music isn't the most vocal.

Yeah, i'm going to have to agree with everyone else on this one..after hearing the Stairway To Heaven i was a bit uneasy about clicking on Come Together but after seeing a ton of good reviews of it i clicked and I don't regret it, you got lots of talent. I can't wait til your voice comes in completely =).

dude... this 13 yeard old kid is puttin' together better mixes than me... *egad* :( I think I'm gonna go play in traffic... :p

Seriously.. this is pretty freaking impressive.. If I had the brains to start drumming (let alone recording) when I was your age, I wouldn't still suck so bad... :p keep it up.

And don't get caught up in the whole "will I play as good as (insert name here) someday"... keep your eye on always improving where you're at now... eventually you'll be looking back at the people you used to look up to.

You need three things to have a website:

1) a domain name registered.
2) a webhost to host the physical files
3) The ability to design/maintain said site, or you have to know someone who does.

I submit to you that there are enough web geeks around here that appreciate your talent that many would be willing to help out, myself included.
I will... I host my own site right now.. and I'm a Web Portal Admin where I work... I can set you up with some simple page designs and even provide you a place to host until you find a good monthly service.

Domain names are nuthin... 8 bucks or so for a year... you can get that price pretty much anywhere. (as I believe was stated earlier)

cool!

Zeke, ya captured the feeling of the original! You did a real good job playing it too! I could barely hold a guitar at 13; you're doing great

Just keep going! You'll be selling your own records in no time at this rate. Very nice

Zeke... you've got a HUGE portion of talent. Keep playing and recording.

Zeke you've got great taste and one major thing that's missing from most people's music - SOUL. You've got it man, keep it up.

Also thank your parents for investing in you. The V-16, drum kit, guitars, bass, mics...that adds up to a hunk of money so they must be pretty supportive.

One more thing. Your drum skills are tight (both playing and recording) You made good use of your 3 mics. Explain how you position your mics (if you can remember) and how you get your drum sound.

Great Job!

This is ssssoooooooo much better than your Zepplin' tribute (which was admirable, btw).

DON'T STOP RECORDING EVER...YOU CAN MISS SCHOOL FOR THIS.

Your mother and father did real good kid! Watch out for bad things around age 27. Many gifted people checked out at that age and you could be one of them if this music behaivor continues.
All the posters on this thread are correct about the soul reference. Your doing good things here. Don't be a gittin a big ego by all the nice things said in here, or your head will get so big, you will have to get shirts with a big neckhole to fit your head through.
Did you study music or do you play by ear?
Can't wait to hear more from ya!

Good luck, Charvster

thanks for all your posted guys!

the drums WAS real. they where dw/parcific cx-series drums. i don't really like ect. drums.(unless i need a ect. sound) i think that by using ect. drums i'm cheating the recording technques.

hey wes480,

you live in atlanta! live about 1 hour from there! (hart co.) i have a brother that lives out there in larinville?(or something like that)

and yes i love my fostex vf-16. it's real easy to work and it's only $799!

i will agree with you guys that this is better then my stairway to heaven song.

thanks!

Hey Zekester...

Don't be so fast to trash electronic drums... You liked my drumming on viewpoint a lot. Well, those are Roland V-Drums.

Articulation and natural sound is all in the player. ;) :D

Cheers,
Phil

i know, i know,

it's not that i "hate" ect. drums, infact i have a pair(yammaha) but i only use them if i need a (boom,cik,boom...bo-boom,cik!) type of sound(rap,hip-hop,techno,house,ect,ect) not that i like those type of music styles i just think that it's better to know a little about them incase you have to record them someday.

Wow Zeke,you definatly nailed it.
I think I like this better than the original!

Your voice is soooooo cool on this.:D

Nice playing and production.
The doubled guitar is perfect.

Really great job!

Pete

thanks guys! i have learned alot from you all.

thanks.

VOX! I had the same thoughts regarding the drum sounds!!! Both on Stairway and this song.

Obviously Zeke's impressed us with his skills.

So Zeke, please give us the step by step on how you got those killer drum sounds. Inquiring minds would like to know. Plus this is a great way for you to school us old farts!

ok! you got'it!

the overhead mic was placed about 1' or 2' in the middle of the rack toms. (almost pointed toward the left crash cymbal.) remember that your looking at the kit from where the drummer sets. not in front of the kit.

the kick was on the floor of the kick drum about 1-3" from the backhead.

the snare was placed in the comen placement. about 2-3" from the top head.

i'm not at home right now but i have the eq settings wrote down, so i will be back on the internet this monday, so if any of you want the settings e-mail me your e-mail address or just post it here.
