I just did a complete reboot of my DAW pc. I have one 320GB drive with (C:)OS,system,etc.---partitioned with (D:)factory image-----and (E:) new volume

(C:) has about 250GB free but I would like to use drive (E:) which has 297GB free, for all audio projects.
I've been doing a bunch of reading and this seems to be a good idea.
How do I do it?
I am using Acid pro 7 and Mixcraft 5.2
I am guessing that within these programs there is an option to send files to (E:), but I can't seem to find it.
Oh yeah, I have f-ing vista home premium, optimized.
any advice?

Also I apparently I don't even know how to operate this forum either, I did not mean for all the smilies

In Acid try this. Go to Options->General and choose your temporary files folder. Then under File->Properties there should be an option (possibly in an Audio tab) to set the Recorded Files folder. The first time you save a project it should let you navigate to a folder. I would put the project file in same folder as the audio files that go with the project.

You may be able to Save As to a new location with an option to copy the audio files with the project file.

Thanx, that got me in the right direction. I was looking at it before, but I thought I would triple check.
