Probably my most experimental to date if only because keyboards are the prevailing instrument. Unfortunately it was a shitty Casio, but gave a decent effect. Small amount of quiet guitar and a really powerful bass sound, made with an acoustic and eq'ed to hell. Quite unusual but not unaccessible. I still can't get a decent vocal sound, I think the microphone is the main culprit but my attempts to eq them don't really help. I'd appreciate some tips!

I thought the intro was pretty cool. Vocals at beginning tend to wander off key - sometimes WAY off key. Vox much better towards end. I like the waa-waa guitar. Kick drum could be punchier. I thought the vocal sound itself was pretty good (except for the intonation problems I mentioned)

"Have to try to try to try"? I think I know what you're going for lyrically here, but thought that line was just a bit too hokey (but that's just my taste) I didn't like a lot of Dylan's lyrics either.

I think that unusual bass sound works with that tune.

Thanks, when I layed down the vocals I had only recorded the bass and rhythm guitar parts (which turned out to be virtually redundant in the song). The keyboard bits were recorded (and composed) after, and it might be that that makes the vocals seem wrong. I'll record them again, I wasn't sure whether it was just me.

I've been thinking the same about the lyric you mentioned, a bit too much repetition. I'm sure it won't be too hard to pen a replacement to please you and probably a lot of others First time I've been mentioned in the same paragraph as Dylan though!

The main vocal itself doesn't have any effects on it, but I did my best to eq it to make it sound better. You may have noticed the quieter vocal in the right hand side which has an espacial effect (cubase plugin) and can only really be heard during the quieter parts. Maybe it adds something to them?
