ok..."nothing to hide"
this one is more disonnent sounding than "patience.." and is definately from the same mold of recording/gtr sounds..so on....
I think you could take this down a whole step, and be able to sing it a tad easier. Sounds like your right at the edge sometimes with the vocal limit. This would go well on the LP with Patience, and fit in, but to me...Patience would be the winner.
reasons:
-this song is NOT as melodic, and harder to "sing along to"...which I think makes it INITIALLY harder to like. I think would be a song after repeated listenings, you start to like more...ya know...you've got songs like that ...right?
-the lead vocal quality doesn't seem as good as you could possibly do. Mentioning about the vocal range, it sound like you are not comfortable with a couple of the phrases....mainly in the chorus's.
-in the *style* of def leperd, etc...it lacks a really killer gtr solo. Your note choice starting out in the solo is a little bizarre. You then change solo sounds (or feel, it appears)@ 2:39...and you think you are going to get more gtr solo....but it has ended...just the rhy gtrs left. Take the lead right up to the vocals for the next couple of bars. You don't need that space there.
This is quality stuff, however, and has a nice sharp ending to it. You've got a good thing going. ...but I bet you've still got that horrid blue thing of a guitar though!!!
I'd like to hear more of your stuff. I've only had cable for a little bit, so I'm kinda new to this forum...
