vox,

Sounded good. I couldnt find anything wrong with it, but I'm sure mixmkr will;)

It sounds dead on over here. Definitly 'Joe Elliotish"

Sounds ready for the radio, just like your other tunes. Mix sounds good to me. No changes needed.

Good job!

cool.

later.

HOLY $H)#!!

I had to listen to Patience in my head first...killer redo. I'm not sure if I'd scoop out some mids in the gtrs or not....I think we are dealing with personal preference here, but great job. I love this kind of music. Always have, always will....now...just change the color of that horrid looking strat of yours, and I'll be completely happy ;)
lemme listen again, and I'll listen to the other song....

oh...if you tell me the first 5 seconds of silence in the mp3 is for *safety reasons*, I might believe it. But, I've given Gorillaproblem so much hassle about it, I gotta be consistant:)

Mix...

I love my Blue Strat... funny story about it is.. I bought it in'96 for $299.. Its a mexi re issue thingy...

Now im seeing them in Stores for $699... Very rare colour... And for a Mexi... $699 is damn generous.... *LOL*

I love it.... I learned to play on it... Well I still can't really play... I only use 2 fingers on the fretboard.. I don't even really know proper chords...

That guitar is on every recording I've done and It's even been to Hollywood, where I went for a little while to write my first album....... Sitting beside the rooftop pool at the argyle hotel on Sunset, with my strat and little battery Powered amp at 1 am.....

Man, what a memory....

Don't diss the strat!!!!!! :D

ok..."nothing to hide"

this one is more disonnent sounding than "patience.." and is definately from the same mold of recording/gtr sounds..so on....

I think you could take this down a whole step, and be able to sing it a tad easier. Sounds like your right at the edge sometimes with the vocal limit. This would go well on the LP with Patience, and fit in, but to me...Patience would be the winner.
reasons:
-this song is NOT as melodic, and harder to "sing along to"...which I think makes it INITIALLY harder to like. I think would be a song after repeated listenings, you start to like more...ya know...you've got songs like that ...right?
-the lead vocal quality doesn't seem as good as you could possibly do. Mentioning about the vocal range, it sound like you are not comfortable with a couple of the phrases....mainly in the chorus's.
-in the *style* of def leperd, etc...it lacks a really killer gtr solo. Your note choice starting out in the solo is a little bizarre. You then change solo sounds (or feel, it appears)@ 2:39...and you think you are going to get more gtr solo....but it has ended...just the rhy gtrs left. Take the lead right up to the vocals for the next couple of bars. You don't need that space there.

This is quality stuff, however, and has a nice sharp ending to it. You've got a good thing going. ...but I bet you've still got that horrid blue thing of a guitar though!!!

I'd like to hear more of your stuff. I've only had cable for a little bit, so I'm kinda new to this forum...

By the way.. there is no such thing as silence... Noise is what doesn't exist...

(Made that one up on the spot.. pretty good huh?):D

I have 2 mexi strats and I paid $279 each for them and put "Hot Rails" in both. $120 more each. Not that anyone asked. :)

oops...sorry about the strat remark...your response came up before I finished posting again.

(man with all natural colored gtrs-or sunbursts...including MY strat too)

Got a korean HAMER. bought it at a guitar show for$200

put a hot rail in $130

cool.

my next strat has gotta have a 13 pin roland cable in it. I've got the roland gr33, and have the gk2a pickup on a Gibson...and it works...but I need it on a strat, and I can't put it on my American strats (stands up and salutes....'remember the alamo'...ha!) Anyway...I can't diss the mexi strats, cause the ones I've played seem ok, and I think it'll be my next purchase in gtrs...so I gotta behave when in mixed company now.

Am I in the right forum ??? I forgot?

Yeah Im a bit monotoned.... and this song has quite a vocal range to it.. I don't mean like Mariah Carey Range... But I mean more than Im used to....

I love this song.... I like it more than Patience..... Patience is a cool song, but I find that "Nothing to hide" has a different note structure than most would expect.. especially in the intro... and just has a neat vibe....

Can't do much about the vocal.... thats the best I can do on that one... Im actually totally content with the vocal... But I *do* see what you mean about the straining here and there...

Your probably refering to the high harmony when Im singing the pre-chorus "Take a pill to hide the pain, Take a ride"..

I think I've tainted everyone now... *LOL*

I will even admit, without any blushing that "Patience" is a great tune... Now im gonna be fighting that comparison for the rest of my clinic days... *LOL* :D

Thanks for listening Mixmkr... Your opinions are very valid... Your hired! :D

Tell you what Mixmkr....

When you learn to spell DEF LEPPARD, I will consider having the strat repainted.. :D

Speaking of Def Leppard...

Whats with all the references to them with this song...?

I wasn't even trying to sound like them on this one.... Must be subliminal :D

well...ah...well...
it sounded like dead lectures...:p

Mixmkr,

So you want to hear more of my stuff huh....

You guys are giving me a big head with all this praise, so tomorow, im gonna post some shit, and you can all make fun of me to even it out...

Actually.. Im gonna encode it now..... I will get it up within the hour....
