Another Mix Contest - Finally Here

Alright, pick a winner already! Greg keeps rattling my cage and I've got crops and cattle to tend to. Can't spend all the live long day remixing this puppy. Here's my final word on the matter. (And it may be worse than the previous versions!)

We'll try to name a winner by this weekend. I've got too much to do the rest of this week.

I'm just thankful that poeticintensity was nice enough to lay down some drums for this piece. Everyone should hang some rep points on poetic for that. He's a good guy.

For sure. I'm just saying they can be made even better.

Mine's almost done. I should have it by tomorrow night.

Nice song, btw. :D

I do think there is one mix submitted so far where the drums sound clearly better than all the others (to me). In fact, it's my favorite so far, mostly because of the drums. But don't ask, 'cause I ain't tellin'. Still waiting for poetic's input as well.

Wow... This thing really picked up, and thanks for the kudos, bud. To be honest, I haven't seen, downloaded, or listened to any of the mixes yet. I have a new job, and am mixing another project like mad, that needs to be *done* in 2 weeks. I *will*, however, listen to all these mixes and make notes on each later this week and post my results to GuitarZero for his final tally. The final result will be at GuitarZero's discretion.

To be honest, I'm still floored by Greg's bowing out of the contest. He kind of alluded to the reason being that his mix is gonna be superior to everyone else's, right?... Now don't get me wrong. Greg has freaking MAD skills at tracking and mixing Punk Rock. I've listened nigh unto 10 of his mixes, and I haven't heard him deviate much from the well-beaten, and amazingly skilled path he's been running on.

However...

If I may say (as well as I may insert my foot firmly in my mouth), this song is about as far from Greg's comfort zone as it could possibly get. I'm *very* interested in hearing his mix (as well as everyone else's). I, for one, would enjoy him being part of the contest, even if his mix is 10 times more platinum than everyone elses. (and yeah... The drum tracks I sent were far from perfect, but "train wreck"? Really? Hmm... Guess I best be going back to the drawing board. I thought they were okay. No offense taken, but man - I'm really interested in hearing what you did to em' to fix em'.)

I'm currently devising a plan to be able to listen to the mixes without knowing who they're from. Probably gonna ask GuitarZero to send me a zipped up file of all the mixes with the names changed. That way it is truly blind for me.

GuitarZero - PM sent.

No it isn't. A song is a song. It's instruments. Something like kcearl's techno-bop stuff or rap is as far from my comfort zone as you can get. :D

Touche, my good man.

ehhhh... Nevermind. I don't really have time to mix it now. Judge away. :laughings:

12 mixes submitted. Files sent to PoeticIntensity numbered randomly. Judging starts today.

i know entrance has ended. i was working on another mix, just for practice. this one is a bit cleaner than my last one. http://www.box.net/shared/v1ra1cm3g3

edit: listening back, i like my first one better than my 2nd and 3rd. same for whitestrat, liked your first one most.

i'm curious to see who wins this thing.
