another interface dilemma

i am my only customer for my recordings. i record my guitar direct from guitar processors and i occasionally mic a speaker cab. i have electronic drums and synths and fruity loops and all the samples available to man. i have three interfaces and i just dont have real pleasure with any of them.
soundscape mixtreme has been the kindest to me, but it is old. i recently purchased a delta 1010 LT with which i found no real pleasure so promptly bought the mbox2 with protools. i dont like ( hate might better describe my enthusiasm for) protools.
so now i'm tryin to decide should i just go back to sonar and mixtreme, revisit the delta 1010 LT, try harder to learn to like the mbox, or buy something altogether different. and yes i know and i've read all the ' its wut works for U ' and all that. but if one of you experts might have a bit of advice for a guy whos tryin to quit spendin money that only guarantees i will spend more money soon, a guy who is NOT a computer geek but a guitarist tryin to record for the sake of having my own personal accompaniment, please share it. i am very close to simply resigning myself to my old fostex 4track cassette recorder.

Go back to Sonar, dump all the interfaces you have and get a 2 or 4 input interface from Presonus, Focusrite, or Lexicon.

That's what I would do. You can thank me later!;)

The 10/10 is a decent interface if you cant return it. You should be able to get some good results with it. The thing about computer DAWS is that you really have to learn/know about computers, the best set-ups need tweaking, setting etc. The more you run things that are'nt perfectly compatible the more you've got to know. Also, manufacturers always say their stuff will work with this and that but I've learned you cant trust that, have to do your own investigating.

i use tracktion... mainly because i just cant stand having to learn complex computer interfaces.

all i realy want is an old school multitrack with vst effects and thats what i love about tracktion. If i had to learn sonar or protools ect and get frustrated doing it .. well i would rather be making music.

i honestly couldnt see what using a more complex package would improve on what i do recording wise.

probbly best i dont say anything lest i cuss...or cry

hi guys. this is ( a rough count ) my third attempt to post this reply, so if several of these pop up you know its because my inability to make a computer record music overflows into my inability to post a message here.

i dont remember the order of my undoings but it was one problem after another. each time i had been advised that the next attempt should be ...so i am now the proud owner of a new computer and several sound cards/interfaces, programs etc. ( and oh, should i mention how many dollars i now do NOT have in my wallet ? )
The delta and the m-box i think i will sell as they should be good as new. only plugged em in and found that i couldnt use them because of my profound lack of computer skills. or perhaps first sell the mbox and try the delta again as PDP suggested and , well, it aint like its gonna cost me anything.
Yeah i think i'll rewind n play backwards on where ive been ( delta with sonar which dint wanna interface with it ) and then once again the sonar with mixtreme. then if i cant find happy, either try the Presonus, Focusrite, or Lexicon ( as per Washburn) , tracktion,( at Zazz's behest) or buy me a boss br 1600, at which time i may be able to persuade someone to purchase some o this stuff. im purdy sure i can make the 1600 work. i do appreciate all your help. ( this place is cool and you guys are nice) thank ya.

Well, not sure what the hell to tell you? With all due respect, you may just need some basic computer and audio learnin. Any music stores in your area offer recording 101 classes, or something similar?

Worst case, buy some pastels and take up landscape painting, buy a camera and learn to photograph nature. Just don't take up hunting or gun collecting. I can see that going bad!:laughings:
