analog reverbs in addition to digitals

any' yall ever use real spring reverb, not as a primary, but to get a different sounding bloom? It`s ballsy.
 
Not since my gramma sold her big Hammond.:D
It had three springs hung in a big loop about thirty or forty inches long.

...I've had some days I've felt like that :D :D

I've used it with an old guitar amp, but never for studio tracks. That's one more thing to try out :)
 
In the old days...pre digital... studios had about three options for echo, echo chamber, sprig och steel/gold plates. I think AKG made a studioversion of Spring reverb... not as good as a plate but....
Springs of the Hammond-type has always been to noisy....
 
I used to have a dedicated spring reverb. I wonder where it went? Hmm...

I want a plate reverb! Maybe I should start looking for those on ebay. :)
 
There should be a couple of them stored around in Stockholm....
 
Do any companies make new, clean sounding spring and plate reverbs?
 
I've got a Tascam RS-20 and RS-20B that sound really good. I only use them when I want to leave my old Fender amp in the closet. They sound about the same as my old Vibrolux.
