Analog console with a computer

Im looking to step up my I/O's from my alesis multimix 8. I Love mixing with a analog console but I like the editing options of a computer program. I have been using Logic on my mac and would like to stick with mac. I just don't get how an analog board can be used together with a computer. Can someone please help with what I need to achieve this?

How to hook up an analog mixer to a computer soundcard:

Basically you have to hook up the inputs and outputs of the soundcard
to the individual channels or busses of the mixer.

i'm in the process of making just such a change... copped an old soundcraft... will run individual channel outs to i/o of ad/da (likely a motu 24i/o) then back to the line ins for analog summing....
